On a beautiful summer night the femellas got together to watch “The Menu” at the outdoor cinema at Landesmuseum. “The Menu” is a dark comedy and psychological thriller directed by Marc Mylod.
Here are the take-aways from our new member Melissa Roth: “Without spoiling too much, the film is a successful mixture of psycho-thriller, social satire and black comedy, which will leave a lasting impression on you. A renowned star chef invites a select group of bourgeoisie to his noble and exclusive restaurant to present a spectacular menu. Once at the restaurant, however, the guests quickly realize that this will not be a normal dinner, because the star chef has come up with something very special. The film is structured like a multi-course menu in a restaurant. This leads to the result that after closing the door of the restaurant absolute tension exists in the audience and you fever with every single character, whether it is the guests or the chefs what forms the atmosphere. I can highly recommend the movie. Don't let the name "horror" stop you from watching, but don't under-estimate it, it's not a good night story…
For me, it was the perfect first event as a new member, because it was casual, fun and interesting to talk with other young women about what they are doing in life. A great end of my study day at the library.”
